Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Defense team in Concord, CA. Duties:

  • Court Representation: Draft and file motions, appear in court, and represent clients at hearings.
  • Deposition Management: Prepare clients for depositions, attend depositions, and handle both fact witness and expert witness depositions.
  • Report Drafting: Create initial, interim, pre-trial, and appellate reports to ensure detailed documentation of case progress.
  • Discovery Process: Draft and respond to discovery motions, managing discovery responses as part of case preparation.
  • Client Representation in Court: Attend regular court appearances and hearings, working to achieve optimal results for clients.
  • Motion and Brief Writing: Prepare motions for summary judgments and other critical case documents to support litigation goals.

Requirements:

  • California Bar Admission: Must be an active member of the California State Bar.
  • Legal Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex legal scenarios.
  • Research Proficiency: Excellent research skills with a high standard for written and oral communication.
  • Discovery Management: Skilled in drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
  • Court Experience: Comfort and experience with court appearances, hearings, and depositions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
