A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Lateral Transactional/Public Entity Associate Attorney to provide legal support to K-12 schools and community colleges on a variety of operational and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have strong transactional experience and the ability to handle complex public entity issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide transactional support to K-12 schools and community colleges on a range of legal issues, including real estate transactions, leases, public contracting matters, and construction procurement.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on substantive legal issues affecting public entities.
  • Advise clients on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and litigation related to public entity matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop strategic solutions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • 1-4 years of transactional practice experience, preferably involving public entity or educational institution clients.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
