The ideal candidate will have experience in family law, including client consultations, advocacy in various legal settings, and legal research. Proficiency with family law software, e-discovery tools, and strong bilingual skills in Spanish are essential. This role involves managing a variety of tasks, including drafting legal documents and advocating for clients in hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult with potential clients and conduct initial case evaluations.
  • Meet with clients to provide legal advice and update them on case progress.
  • Advocate for clients in hearings, depositions, mediation sessions, and trials.
  • Perform legal research and draft pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence.
  • Collect, prepare, and produce documents using e-discovery software.
  • Utilize family law software (e.g., MyCase) for case management and documentation.
  • Edit, bookmark, and index PDFs as required for case files.
  • Ensure compliance with e-filing requirements and procedures.
  • Manage and organize case files, deadlines, and client communications.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and proofreading skills.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar association (Texas).
  • 2 years of experience in family law.
  • Experience with MyCase or similar case management software.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw and FormBuilder for legal research and drafting.
  • Experience with e-discovery software for document collection and production.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar association (Texas) required.

Skills:
