A law firm in Mount Laurel, NJ, is seeking a skilled Creditor's Rights Attorney to manage and oversee consumer credit collections matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of consumer credit laws and regulations, exceptional client communication skills, and the ability to handle multi-state legal issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the firm’s case management and reporting software to effectively manage assigned creditor’s rights cases.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings and trials, with occasional travel required.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of consumer credit collection laws, FDCPA regulations, and related statutes in the licensed jurisdiction.
  • Ensure superior client service by providing proactive communication and timely updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to streamline case workflows and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Handle negotiations and settlements with debtors and opposing counsel as necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of New Jersey or eligible for admission on motion.
  • Experience in creditor’s rights, consumer credit collections, or related litigation.
  • Strong courtroom presence and experience conducting hearings and trials.
  • Proficiency in utilizing case management software for efficient case handling.
  • Multi-state licensure preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal services and maintaining client confidentiality.
