A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a seasoned Senior Immigration Attorney with 5-8 years of experience to join its dynamic team. Reporting to the Managing Immigration Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, provide strategic solutions, and collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The role requires proficiency in immigration law, exceptional client communication skills, and a track record of successfully handling diverse immigration cases.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and develop strategic solutions for clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Efficiently manage a workload of immigration cases.
  • Conduct intakes and consultations with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide thorough legal analysis to identify potential case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit persuasive legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of Immigration Law Experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar admission.
