A well-established law firm in Berkeley Heights, NJ, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in insurance defense litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, engage with clients and insurance carriers, and develop litigation skills under the guidance of experienced attorneys. The role provides a collaborative atmosphere and hands-on experience in managing complex cases.
Analyze legal and factual issues to develop strategic defense approaches.
Conduct in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses.
Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients and insurance carriers.
Represent clients in trials, hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders as needed.
Ensure efficient and timely resolution of assigned cases.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Active membership in the New Jersey Bar; admission to additional state bars (such as PA, DE, or WV) is a plus.
At least 1 year of experience in insurance defense or a similar litigation setting.
Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
Additional State Bar admissions are advantageous.
Legal research and analysis.
Litigation strategy and case management.
Effective communication with clients and legal professionals.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently.
