Job Overview

A well-established law firm in Berkeley Heights, NJ, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in insurance defense litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, engage with clients and insurance carriers, and develop litigation skills under the guidance of experienced attorneys. Duties

  • Analyze legal and factual issues to develop strategic defense approaches.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.

  • Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses.

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients and insurance carriers.

  • Represent clients in trials, hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

  • Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders as needed.

  • Ensure efficient and timely resolution of assigned cases.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

  • Active membership in the New Jersey Bar; admission to additional state bars (such as PA, DE, or WV) is a plus.

  • At least 1 year of experience in insurance defense or a similar litigation setting.

  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

  • Additional State Bar admissions are advantageous.
