Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to represent clients in various immigration matters, including Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Family Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Asylum, Waivers, and Cancellation of Removal. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of immigration law experience, including litigation. The position requires conducting legal research, writing briefs for the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and appearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Represent clients in various immigration matters, including SIJS, Family Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Waivers, Asylum, and Cancellation of Removal
• Conduct legal research and draft BIA briefs, motions to reopen/terminate, and briefs for the U.S. Court of Appeals
• Appear in individual hearings and immigration court
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on immigration issues
• Collaborate with other legal professionals in the firm to manage case workloads
• Maintain client relationships and ensure timely communication

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on litigation
• Strong experience with Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, and SIJS
• Proven ability to handle individual hearings
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• NY Bar license required; NJ Bar license is a plus
• Spanish language skills are a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• NY Bar license required (NJ Bar is a plus)
