General Liability Of Counsel/Partner

Job Overview: A law firm in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Liability Counsel/Partner to join their team. This role involves handling a diverse caseload of general liability matters, providing strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Job Duties:

• Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, legal memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Regularly represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests effectively.
• Coordinate expert witness retention and collaboration.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and attend as required.
• Occasional travel may be necessary for case-related activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience, specifically in general liability practice.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice in New York and other states is a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Responsive to e-mail and phone inquiries with excellent client service skills.
• Professional demeanor and robust telephone manner.

Education and Certifications:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York; additional admissions in other states are advantageous.
