The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an active litigation caseload, including drafting legal documents and handling depositions and oral arguments. This role requires strong academic credentials, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to be proactive, reliable, and responsive to both client and firm needs. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and in-office work.

Duties:

  • Manage an active litigation caseload with a focus on creditor's rights.
  • Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle depositions, oral arguments, and other court appearances.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of case progress and legal documents.
  • Provide timely updates and responsive communication to clients and firm leadership.
  • Demonstrate proactive and reliable approach to meeting deadlines and client needs.
  • Organize and prioritize workload effectively to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on creditor's rights preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials with a proven track record in legal research, writing, and advocacy.
  • Ability to handle depositions and oral arguments with confidence and competence.
  • Proactive, reliable, and responsive to client and firm needs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:

  • Exceptional research and writing abilities.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Strong advocacy and oral argument skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
