A law firm is seeking an Insurance Attorney for its Chicago location. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to insurance coverage. The ideal candidate should possess strong speaking, writing, research, and organization skills. Additionally, outstanding internal and external client service skills are essential. Exposure to various lines of commercial insurance such as D&O, E&O, Cyber, EPLI, and R&W is preferred. Regulatory expertise is also welcome.
 
Duties:
• Provide legal advice and representation to clients on insurance coverage matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to insurance laws, regulations, and case precedents.
• Draft legal documents, including opinions, briefs, pleadings, and contracts.
• Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions with insurance companies and opposing parties.
• Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and litigation proceedings.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies and objectives.
• Stay updated on developments in insurance law and industry trends.
 
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in the state of IL.
• 5 years of related practice experience, with a focus on insurance coverage.
• Familiarity with D&O, E&O, Cyber, EPLI, and other lines of commercial insurance.
• Experience with Representations and Warranties (R&W) insurance is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
 
Certifications:
Admission to the IL Bar.
