Job Overview
A prestigious law firm is looking for a Patent Agent or Associate to join their Patent Prosecution & Litigation team, specializing in Electrical Engineering & Software. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IP law, particularly patent drafting and prosecution, with a solid background in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar fields. Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovations in electrical engineering, software, and related technologies.
• Assist in patent litigation matters, including preparing filings, briefs, and technical analyses.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their inventions and provide strategic patent prosecution advice.
• Review and analyze prior art to assess patentability and infringement issues.
• Support team efforts in addressing complex IP issues related to networking, 3G/4G/5G wireless technology, and chip design.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Prior experience in intellectual property law, focusing on patent prosecution and drafting.
• Proven background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 2-6 years of professional experience in IP law.
• Admission to the USPTO is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• JD from an accredited law school (for Associate applicants).

Certifications

• USPTO registration is required.
