Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm in Columbia, MD, is seeking a seasoned Healthcare Regulatory Attorney with a strong background in healthcare law to join its legal team. This position involves providing legal guidance on regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, and advising a variety of healthcare providers, specialty practices, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in healthcare regulatory matters and a proven ability to navigate complex legal landscapes.

Duties:

  • Offer legal advice on healthcare regulatory issues to providers, specialty practices, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Advise on compliance matters, including risk management and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct audits, handle investigations, and provide counsel on healthcare transactions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across different disciplines to support comprehensive client needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory law.
  • Expertise in federal and state healthcare laws such as HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Proven experience advising healthcare providers and specialty practices on compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory bodies, including HHS, CMS, and state healthcare agencies.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in Maryland or eligibility to be admitted.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
