Job Overview:A boutique law firm specializing in bankruptcy representation across Michigan's lower peninsula is seeking an entry-level Associate Attorney to join its East Lansing office. This role involves handling Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, attending hearings, and managing client communications in a collaborative and professional environment. Hybrid work options are available.Location:East Lansing, MIDuties:Draft and edit legal correspondence and documents related to bankruptcy practice.Communicate with clients, trustees, and opposing counsel.Attend hearings in federal bankruptcy courts throughout Michigan's lower peninsula.Manage hearing dockets and ensure timely case progress.Maintain organized client files, documents, and records.Requirements:Active Michigan Bar License.Willingness and ability to travel as needed to federal bankruptcy courts across the region (including Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Flint, Detroit, Bay City, and Traverse City).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Michigan.Admittance to the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan (or ability to gain admittance).Skills:Knowledge of bankruptcy law and creditor representation preferred (not required).Strong legal drafting and editing abilities.Effective client communication and relationship management.Adaptability to work effectively with legal staff and third parties.Benefits:Flexible schedule.Paid time off (PTO).Professional development assistance.Retirement plan.
