Job Overview:
An esteemed law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Pre-Litigation team in Durham, North Carolina, or remotely with hybrid options. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to handle their own caseload while receiving mentorship from prominent attorneys in the field. The role involves direct client interaction, court appearances, and opportunities for trial preparation, all within a supportive environment. Location:

  • Durham, North Carolina

Duties:

  • Manage and handle a caseload independently with the support of a skilled team.
  • Attend court hearings, take depositions, and represent clients during litigation proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve cases in clients’ best interests.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts, and keep clients updated on case progress.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including research, document preparation, and strategy development.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • No billable hour requirements, allowing focus on quality work and client results.

Requirements:

  • Active NC Bar Licensure.
  • 2–5 years of experience managing a large caseload preferred.
  • Some litigation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel to courts across North Carolina frequently.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Must have a strong commitment to providing excellent client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • NC Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and legal research skills.
