Family Law Attorney for New Jersey Office

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly experienced Family Law Attorney to join its practice in Livingston, NJ. This role is ideal for a professional with a deep understanding of family law and a passion for representing clients in various family law matters. Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, support, and property division.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other court-related documents.
• Manage all stages of family law cases from consultation through trial or settlement.
• Provide legal advice to clients, interpreting laws and explaining options and strategies.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials in New Jersey courts.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient handling of cases.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to reach settlements favorable to clients.
• Stay updated on family law developments in New Jersey and apply relevant legal principles.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing family law in New Jersey.
• Admitted to the New Jersey Bar and in good standing.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Experience handling family law matters in court with an ability to manage a high volume of cases.
• Knowledge of New Jersey family law, including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
• Additional New York family law experience is a plus but not required.
