Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Islandia, NY is currently seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Litigation Associate Attorney. This role involves handling complex labor and employment cases, providing legal counsel on various matters, and contributing to the firm's continued success in employment law.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment-related legal matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour issues, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
• Conduct in-depth research and provide legal advice on labor and employment statutes and litigation.
• Develop company policies and employee handbooks tailored to clients’ needs.
• Manage an active caseload and ensure timely progression of cases.
• Assist with coverage of the calendar and handle a variety of tasks across litigation.
• Take part in depositions, both defending and questioning all parties and non-parties.
• Meet and collaborate with clients, facilities, and employees.
• Facilitate client preparation for depositions.
• Review medical records and work with experts to build case strategies.
• Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, and discovery items.
• Oversee all aspects of litigation and trial preparation.

Requirements:

• Experience in labor and employment litigation.
• Proven track record of managing complex legal matters in employment law.
• Strong understanding of employment statutes and regulations.
• Ability to handle a busy caseload with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Experience in arbitration, collective bargaining, and depositions.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills:
