Job Overview:

The Immigration Attorney will play a key role in handling a caseload of immigration cases, ranging from removal defense to family-based immigration petitions. This position offers the chance to work closely with senior attorneys and contribute to strategic planning for clients facing various immigration challenges. The attorney will also be involved in direct client interaction, case management, and legal research.

Duties:

• Represent clients in immigration proceedings, including removal hearings and appeals.
• Provide legal counsel on immigration matters, explaining options and developing strategies.
• Conduct client intakes and represent detained individuals in immigration centers.
• Prepare and file immigration petitions, including family-based petitions, removal defenses, and other applications with USCIS.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for diverse immigration cases.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law issues.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations, assessing cases, and advising on strategy.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews.
• Review and manage case documentation, ensuring all filings are accurate and timely.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
• Experience managing a caseload of immigration cases.
• Ability to provide legal analysis and counsel on a variety of immigration matters.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience with removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian visas, EOIR cases, detained cases, and naturalization applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
