Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:

A leading law firm in Orlando, FL, is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with extensive trial experience to join a dynamic and growing legal team. This position involves managing high-stakes personal injury and litigation cases from start to finish, collaborating with a team of dedicated paralegals and legal assistants and representing clients through trial or settlement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by the opportunity to expand their expertise in trial law without the need to focus on marketing or administrative tasks.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 35-40 files, ensuring thorough case preparation and effective client representation.
  • Collaborate with a paralegal and legal assistants to support case progress and trial preparation.
  • Prepare for and conduct numerous jury trials throughout Florida annually.
  • Handle all litigation-related tasks, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial strategy.
  • Maintain direct communication with clients to keep them informed on case status and developments.
  • Attend workshops and seminars to continually improve trial skills and legal knowledge.
  • Contribute to team success by participating in firm-wide efforts to improve efficiency and performance.

Requirements:

  • An active member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience.
  • Significant trial experience, including serving as First Chair in trials.
  • General litigation experience, including motion practice, depositions, and discovery processes.
  • Strong ability to manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction and courtroom advocacy.
  • Professional demeanor, with a focus on delivering high-quality client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar membership (required).

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SmartAdvocate® case management software (preferred).
  • Bilingual skills (preferred).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
