A law firm seeks a skilled and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join its expanding team in Lexington, KY. Duties:

  • Represent clients in a range of litigation matters across various industries, including education, healthcare, government, and civil defense.
  • Handle cases from inception to resolution, including conducting legal research, and drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, trials, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies and ensure the effective handling of legal matters.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide clear and concise legal advice to clients.
  • Manage case files and maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to the firm’s practice areas.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: education law, medical negligence defense, government/civil rights, or civil defense litigation.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to understand and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and legal staff.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation skills and courtroom experience.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Kentucky Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Experience handling depositions, hearings, and trials.
