Job Title: Immigration Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A premier law firm in Dallas, TX, is currently seeking a dedicated Immigration Associate Attorney. This position offers significant potential for professional growth and exposure to a wide variety of immigration cases. The ideal candidate will work alongside a highly skilled team of attorneys and legal assistants to represent clients in immigration-related matters, with an emphasis on removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS applications.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and explain immigration-related issues and strategies to clients.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage an independent caseload and provide personalized client interaction.
  • Conduct intake meetings and visits to detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration packets and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law matters.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and advise on the best legal options.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court or USCIS proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Experience in handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Cases, EOIR proceedings, Detained Cases, and USCIS applications.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and client relationship skills.
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and procedure.
  • Strong legal writing and research abilities.
  • Proven ability to advocate for clients in high-stakes situations.
  • High level of organization and time management skills.
