A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a Mid-Level IP Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and a background in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent and/or trade secret disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases.
  • Provide counsel to clients on ongoing intellectual property matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client management.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, preferably in patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge across a broad spectrum of cases.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take on increased levels of responsibility for client matters.
  • Action-oriented approach to legal practice.
  • Proficiency in case management and client counseling.
  • Familiarity with relevant intellectual property laws and regulations.
