Senior Energy Development Attorney

Job Overview: A leading law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking an experienced Senior Energy Development Attorney. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team focusing on both traditional and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy transactions, project development, and financing while thriving in a collaborative environment. This position involves working with national and international clients on complex energy projects.

Duties:

  • Handle energy transactions, including project development, transactional due diligence, and financing.
  • Draft and review EPC contracts, supply agreements, and O&M agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance regarding international trade restraints (WROs, AD/CVDs), import tariffs, and their impact on renewable energy project documents.
  • Advise clients on power purchase agreements and site control documents for distributed energy projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-office teams and various practice groups to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Develop client-ready documents independently and work on complex transactions with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in energy transactions, project development, or a related legal field.
  • Proven experience advising clients on project development and international trade issues related to renewable energy.
  • Strong knowledge of legal aspects of power purchase agreements and site control documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar.

Skills:
