This role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, advising clients, negotiating terms, and resolving disputes related to residential real estate transactions. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review contracts for purchasing and selling residential properties, including title searches, inspections, disclosures, contingencies, and closing documents.
  • Advise clients on their rights and obligations under contracts, potential risks, and liabilities.
  • Negotiate terms with sellers, buyers, agents, lenders, appraisers, inspectors, and title companies.
  • Resolve disputes arising during or after transactions, including breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, title defects, boundary disputes, easements, liens, foreclosures, and evictions.
  • Build brand awareness and recognition through direct marketing, client events, and meetings.
  • Stay updated on laws, regulations, and trends affecting residential real estate in Virginia.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to complete timely and client-focused transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential real estate experience in a law firm or in-house setting, focusing on transactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts and documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
