Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate to join its team.  The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience working with employee benefits and executive compensation matters. The role involves advising clients on the design, implementation, and maintenance of tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare programs, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. Candidates should be skilled in analyzing and drafting health and welfare plans, as well as handling ERISA fiduciary matters and M&A transactions related to benefits.

Location:

  • Cincinnati, OH

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation issues
  • Design, implement, and maintain tax-qualified retirement plans and health & welfare benefit programs
  • Draft non-qualified deferred compensation plans, incentive plans, and severance pay plans
  • Counsel clients on ERISA fiduciary matters and compliance
  • Manage employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions
  • Provide legal guidance to publicly traded corporations, privately owned companies, financial institutions, and tax-exempt organizations
  • Conduct analysis and drafting related to health & welfare and qualified plan issues

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and draft health & welfare and qualified plan documents
  • Experience with ERISA fiduciary matters and M&A transactions
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Proficiency in employee benefits and executive compensation regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent drafting and writing abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills
