Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join its team in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will be an experienced attorney with expertise in estate, trust, and conservatorship litigation. This position offers an opportunity to manage a caseload while receiving mentorship and support from senior attorneys. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and colleagues to guide them through the legal complexities of probate and trust matters, ensuring the highest level of client service.

Duties:

• Collaborate with clients and firm members to assess and adjust case strategies and client goals.
• Collect and organize evidence to support client cases.
• Provide clients with guidance and updates regarding legal processes, case status, and potential outcomes.
• Advise clients on probate, trust administration, and conservatorship litigation.
• Conduct legal research, draft memos, and develop strategic approaches for litigation.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery plans, status reports, client and opinion letters, demand letters, motions, petitions, trial briefs, and settlement proposals.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including those of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Propound and respond to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission.
• Issue subpoenas and manage records from third parties and trial witnesses.
• Summarize discovery and make court appearances.
• Participate in settlement conferences, presenting evidence and providing clients with a clear analysis of case strengths and weaknesses.
• Advise clients on settlement strategies and trial prospects.
• Manage and conduct bench trials when ready.

Requirements:

• Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Self-driven, highly organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient research and writing abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional client service skills with a focus on professionalism and efficiency.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Google Suite.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member of the California State Bar.
