The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to handle both simple and complex hearings. This role requires admission to the Florida Bar and involves attending trials, depositions, mediations, and engaging in settlement discussions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Handle cases independently from inception through resolution, ensuring all aspects of the litigation process are managed effectively.
  • Court Appearances: Attend and argue in simple and complex hearings, presenting relevant issues and evidence.
  • Depositions: Take and defend depositions, including those of parties and experts, to gather testimony and evidence.
  • Mediation and Settlement: Attend mediation sessions and engage in settlement discussions with opposing counsel and clients to resolve disputes.
  • Client Communication: Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates, discuss strategy, and address any concerns.
  • Trial Attendance: Attend and participate in both jury and non-jury trials, presenting cases in court.
  • Research and Writing: Conduct detailed legal research and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Database Familiarity: Utilize legal research databases to support case preparation and strategy development.

Requirements

  • Bar Admission: Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation practice.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Skills:
