Job Overview: A law firm in Corvallis, OR, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in family law, demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively and be prepared to handle a full caseload with in-house mentorship and support. The candidate must be a member of the Oregon State Bar or be willing to become one and should be ready to relocate to Corvallis shortly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a full caseload of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare and present cases in court, including conducting trials and hearings.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop effective case strategies and solutions.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on family law regulations and case law changes.
  • Attend client meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing legal education as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Active membership in the Oregon State Bar or eligibility to become a member.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Corvallis area shortly.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Oregon State Bar membership (or eligibility to become a member).
