Job Overview: A law firm seeks a qualified Labor And Employment Associate Attorney to join their team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on higher education law being highly regarded. Superior verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work directly with clients and develop and execute service strategies. The candidate must be licensed to practice in New York State or eligible to waive into the New York State Bar.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on labor and employment matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in negotiations, mediations, and settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and administrative proceedings.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure the effective handling of cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Experience in higher education law will be highly regarded.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York State or eligible to waive into the New York State Bar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into the New York State Bar.
