Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and obligations related to criminal defense matters.
• Draft, file, and manage various legal documents pertinent to each case.
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings, advising on case strategy following each appearance.
• Manage court proceedings, including trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
• Evaluate case prospects and advise clients on potential outcomes based on legal precedents.
• Oversee a substantial caseload with attention to detail and commitment to clients' best interests.
• Collect and prepare evidence for the defense or counterarguments against prosecution.
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather relevant witness statements and expert opinions to strengthen case positions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of criminal defense experience.
• Proven expertise in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to assisting and strategizing with fellow attorneys.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• An active member of the California State Bar.

Certifications:

• Admittance to practice law in the state of California.
