Trial Attorney Personal Injury Litigation

A law firm seeks an experienced and passionate Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will handle a diverse range of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. You will focus on trial preparation and represent clients in jury trials throughout the state of Florida. With a dedicated team supporting you, you will not need to worry about marketing for cases, allowing you to fully focus on providing the best legal representation possible.

Duties:

• Manage and represent personal injury cases from pre-suit through trial, focusing on trial preparation and litigation.
• Collaborate with a team of paralegals and legal assistants to prepare cases for trial.
• Take charge as first-chair in trials, ensuring strong advocacy on behalf of clients.
• Engage in motion practice, discovery, and deposition of facts and expert witnesses.
• Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed on the progress of their cases.
• Negotiate settlements when appropriate, working to secure the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Ensure that all casework is organized and meets deadlines, prioritizing efficiency and quality.
• Participate in seminars and workshops to continually improve trial skills.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with clients and staff.

Requirements:

• Full-time availability.
• Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of experience in personal injury litigation.
• Demonstrated trial experience, including serving as first chair during trials.
• Extensive knowledge of motion practice, discovery, and witness depositions.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software (SmartAdvocate® preferred).
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
• Ability to manage a heavy caseload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Professional, organized, and team-oriented with a focus on client service.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and trial experience, with a focus on personal injury cases.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage and organize complex case files.
• Skilled in negotiating and reaching favorable settlements.
• Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
