Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in Bismarck, ND is seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join its Oil & Gas team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and supporting client teams on intricate issues within the energy, oil, and gas sectors. This position involves drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, managing transactional real estate matters, and providing comprehensive legal advice in regulatory and energy-related matters. The role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and issues in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Duties:

• Draft and review commercial agreements, including those related to oil and gas operations
• Provide counsel on regulatory compliance and energy sector laws
• Handle transactional real estate matters related to oil and gas properties
• Advise clients on complex legal issues within the energy and oil & gas sectors
• Collaborate with client teams to manage caseloads effectively and meet deadlines
• Support and participate in negotiations for various contracts
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed reports and briefs

Requirements:

• Prior experience in oil & gas, energy, or related legal fields
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Ability to become licensed in North Dakota promptly if not already
