Associate Attorney with 1-5 years litigation or professional liability experience

Location:

• Purchase, NY

Duties:

• Manage an independent caseload with oversight from senior partners.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and mediations.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend inspections and consult with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for trials and assist with trial proceedings.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or professional liability.
• Admitted to practice law in New York (Connecticut admission is a plus but not required).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in handling legal matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York Bar License (required)
• Connecticut Bar License (preferred, but not required)

Skills:

• Legal writing and research proficiency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle depositions and court proceedings.
• Proficient in preparing legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
