A law firm based in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Senior Environmental Attorney with 7-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising clients on environmental regulatory and administrative enforcement matters, including issues related to CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and relevant California statutes. The role requires significant experience in environmental due diligence, investigations, and transactions involving potentially contaminated properties. The candidate should possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on a broad range of environmental regulatory and administrative enforcement matters, including compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and California environmental statutes.
  • Handle environmental due diligence, investigations, and transactions involving potentially contaminated sites.
  • Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments and provide strategic guidance on managing environmental risks.
  • Represent clients in regulatory and enforcement actions, including negotiations with regulatory agencies and representation in administrative proceedings.
  • Develop and implement strategies for addressing environmental compliance and remediation issues.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to environmental matters, including compliance reports, settlement agreements, and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide expert counsel on environmental issues related to property transactions, including site assessments and remediation planning.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of current environmental laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes in environmental matters.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in environmental law, including significant experience with regulatory compliance, enforcement matters, and environmental transactions.
  • Proven expertise in handling issues related to CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and California environmental statutes.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental due diligence, investigation, and transactions involving contaminated properties.
  • Strong research, analytical, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
  • High level of academic achievement.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
