Job Overview:
An established immigration law firm is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on removal defense and USCIS filings. Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court (EOIR)
  • Handle affirmative and defensive asylum cases, cancellation of removal, and motions to reopen/reconsider
  • Prepare and file applications with USCIS, including I-601A waivers, adjustment of status, naturalization, and family-based petitions
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs)
  • Attend master and individual hearings, as well as USCIS interviews
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop case strategies tailored to each client
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management
  • Stay updated on immigration laws, policies, and procedural changes

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in any U.S. state
  • 1-3 years of experience in immigration law, with particular focus on removal defense and USCIS filings (training available for the right candidate)
  • Strong litigation, writing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining excellent client communication
  • Spanish fluency is preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
