Job Overview:

A law firm in Houston, TX, seeks a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney. Texas Criminal Law experience is preferred, and candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in criminal defense cases from initial consultation through resolution.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Conduct thorough case investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing legal documents.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and options and guide the legal process.
• Negotiate settlements and plea deals with opposing counsel and prosecutors.
• Prepare and present compelling arguments in court, including motions, pre-trial motions, and trial arguments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.
• Stay updated on changes in criminal law and legal procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and answer questions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Experience in criminal defense law preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in handling criminal cases, including trials and negotiations.
• Strong understanding of Texas Criminal Law and legal procedures.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education:
