A law firm seeks a motivated and bilingual Immigration Associate Attorney to join its Phoenix, Arizona office. This entry-level position offers an opportunity for hands-on experience in immigration law, including work before the Immigration Court (EOIR) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The ideal candidate will be passionate about immigration law, eager to learn, and ready to handle a high-volume caseload with the support of a collaborative team.

Duties

  • Manage EOIR Immigration Court caseload from initiation to resolution, with guidance from senior attorneys.
  • Prepare written pleadings, motions, prosecutorial discretion requests, and applications for relief.
  • Collect, review, and organize documentation for hearings and filings.
  • Review and submit all EOIR filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures.
  • Prepare clients for hearings and provide representation during court proceedings.
  • Manage USCIS cases requiring interviews, including applications for adjustment of status and naturalization.
  • Work with a team of paralegals and support staff to ensure smooth case management and high-quality client service.
  • Stay updated on EOIR procedures and relevant immigration law changes.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned to support the immigration practice.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in the immigration field, preferably with EOIR and USCIS exposure.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take direction and collaborate with a team of legal professionals.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a high standard of work.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active state bar membership, licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

  • Excellent research and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
