A law firm in Washington, DC is actively seeking a Mid-level Life Sciences Corporate Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will work with venture-backed private and public companies, specializing in various transactions such as equity financing, IPOs, M&A, and corporate governance. The role requires experience in public company work and registered equity offerings (IPOs and follow-on offerings). While experience working with life sciences companies is preferred, the firm will also consider candidates with a strong interest in life sciences work. The candidate should have general experience working in teams and managing substantial components of transactions independently, along with outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Relevant Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) is required.

 

Duties:

  • Work with venture-backed private and public companies on a range of transactions, including equity financing, IPOs, M&A, and corporate governance.
  • Demonstrate experience in public company work and registered equity offerings (IPOs and follow-on offerings).
  • Collaborate in teams and independently manage substantial components of transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel on corporate and transactional matters, focusing on public company representation.
  • Consider candidates with a strong interest in life sciences work, even if without direct experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Relevant Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters.
  • Focus on public company representation.
  • Experience in equity financing, IPOs, and M&A transactions.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.

 

Skills:

  • General experience in managing transactions independently.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in life sciences work, with a preference for direct experience.
  • Familiarity with public company representation and registered equity offerings.
