Duties:

• Litigate bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights matters in state and federal courts.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, local rules, UCC, and secured transactions.
• Handle motions practice, contested matters, and adversary proceedings.
• Conduct or assist in preparing depositions.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Engage in business development activities.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in bankruptcy litigation.
• Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and procedures.
• Proven experience in motion practice and contested matters.
• Quick thinking and adept at performing under pressure.

This full-service firm is one of the largest law firms in Indianapolis with a nationally recognized reputation in many of its practice areas. New associates are assigned to one of five sections: Bond/Municipal Finance, Business, Labor, Litigation, or Real Estate. New associates are encouraged to let the firm know what areas interest them, but all attorneys are expected to be willing to work in a wide variety of areas. New associates are also provided with early client contact. While some associates arent ecstatic with the firms bonus structure, this mid-tier firm does pay higher than many similar firms in the area.
