Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Rockville, MD, seeks a qualified attorney with a background or strong interest in real estate, foreclosure, title, bankruptcy, mortgage servicing, or general real estate litigation. Duties

  • Analyze legal issues and collaborate on strategy development with the Managing Attorney.
  • Oversee caseloads, ensuring compliance with firm, client, and court deadlines.
  • Coordinate with department staff to keep client systems and case management systems updated.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure legal documents meet client requirements and legal standards.
  • Conduct research and analysis of statutes, case law, and regulations for motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Manage real estate law cases and real estate title disputes, handling litigation tasks as needed.
  • Draft and file motions, complaints, and other necessary documents for bankruptcy cases.
  • Perform quality control reviews on documents and internal work products.
  • Attend and argue pre-trial motions, attend court hearings, mediations, and, if applicable, depositions and trials.

Requirements

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in both individual and collaborative settings.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments, managing portfolios with accountability.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland; DC Bar admission is a plus.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and address complex legal matters.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with both legal staff and clients.
  • Experience in real estate mortgage law, or general litigation, is advantageous.
