A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a motivated Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney or Counsel with 2+ years of experience to join our thriving practice. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of land use, zoning, and real estate matters, engaging in client interactions, public presentations, and advocacy before local governing bodies.

Job Duties:

  • Manage and advise clients on land use and zoning regulations, including zoning approvals, variances, permits, and entitlements.
  • Conduct due diligence and research regarding land use issues for real estate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements related to land development, easements, and environmental matters.
  • Represent clients in public hearings before community groups, planning and zoning boards, and local government authorities.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, engineers, and governmental officials to facilitate project approvals.
  • Provide legal support and guidance on real estate development projects, including compliance with local zoning laws and regulations.
  • Handle real estate litigation matters related to land use disputes, if necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia in good standing.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in land use and zoning, real estate transactional work, or Georgia-based real estate or land use litigation.
  • Strong understanding of local land use regulations and zoning ordinances.
  • Excellent academic credentials and superior writing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with public speaking and presenting complex legal issues to diverse audiences.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis related to land use and zoning matters.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation and advocacy skills, particularly in public forums.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education and Certifications:
