Job Overview: A law firm in the Raleigh/Durham area is seeking an enthusiastic Residential Real Estate Attorney to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-energy, client-focused environment, providing legal services for residential real estate closings. Previous experience in real estate law is not required, but experience in other legal fields and a willingness to learn are essential. Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed legal files for real estate transactions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for buyer-clients, real estate agents, and sellers, providing clear communication on legal matters.
  • Collaborate with a team of paralegals, assistants, and attorneys to ensure smooth file management.
  • Review title work and coordinate with title insurance companies.
  • Address any issues found in title work and liaise with seller attorneys as needed.
  • Review and verify seller documents for accuracy, including obtaining originals when required.
  • Review property surveys and communicate findings with buyers.
  • Draft necessary legal documents to ensure the correct completion of real estate transactions.
  • Attend closing appointments to explain and notarize loan documents.
  • Conduct final quality control checks on files and title updates.
  • Secure funding approval and ensure documents are recorded post-closing.
  • Manage any post-closing issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn real estate law, with experience in other legal areas a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with clients, real estate agents, and legal professionals.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active North Carolina Bar License (Required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in managing complex legal matters and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage files with high accuracy and attention to detail.
