Duties:

  • Manage and litigate Virginia-based personal injury cases, from intake through trial.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and other court documents.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to paralegals and support staff.
  • Analyze medical records, bills, and injury assessments to build strong cases.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trials.
  • Ensure cases are processed efficiently using case management software.
  • Stay up-to-date on Virginia personal injury laws and insurance claims processes.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys within the firm to strategize case outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • An active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in plaintiff personal injury cases.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and trial advocacy skills.
  • Expertise in personal injury law, with a thorough understanding of medical records and insurance processes.
  • Experience using case management software (Neos preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor paralegals and support staff.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia (required).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
