Water Law Associate Attorney

A law firm based in Longmont, CO is seeking a Water Law Associate Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven interest in Colorado water law and substantial experience with water-related matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of water law matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions.
• Provide legal counsel and representation in water-related disputes and negotiations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to water rights and usage.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on water law issues and regulatory changes.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings and court hearings.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and stakeholders to develop and implement legal strategies.
• Stay informed about developments in Colorado water law and related regulations.
• Manage case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and legal staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in Colorado.
• 4-8 years of legal experience, with a focus on Colorado water law.
• Proven experience with water court proceedings and water rights transactions.
• Strong understanding of Colorado water law and regulations.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Colorado Bar.
