Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney with a focus on energy and infrastructure Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join its dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile M&A transactions, including joint ventures across a variety of sectors, such as renewables, conventional power generation, oil & gas, infrastructure, energy transition, and energy technology.

The ideal candidate will have between 3-6 years of experience in energy and/or infrastructure M&A law and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in energy and infrastructure M&A transactions, including joint ventures.
  • Advise clients in sectors such as renewables, oil & gas, power generation, and energy transition.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys in the negotiation, structuring, and execution of deals.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to M&A transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence, including the preparation of reports and analysis of deal structures.
  • Manage client communications, keeping them informed throughout the transaction process.
  • Assist with the development of strategies for achieving optimal outcomes for clients in complex M&A transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in energy and/or infrastructure M&A law.
  • Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of success in M&A matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple complex matters.
  • Admission to the State Bar in the location where the candidate will be based.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the CA State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in energy and infrastructure M&A transactions.
  • Strong understanding of joint ventures, energy transition, and related sectors.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
  • Effective project management capabilities and attention to detail.
