Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in intellectual property litigation seeks a skilled associate attorney with substantial experience to join its San Francisco, CA team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of patent law and litigation procedures and will be pivotal in handling complex disputes.

Duties:

• Manage and litigate complex patent cases from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents related to patent litigation.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in patent disputes.
• Argue motions and present oral arguments in court proceedings and before judicial bodies.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and litigation plans.
• Conducted pre-trial preparation and participated in trial proceedings as necessary.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on intellectual property matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
• 5-7 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, focusing on patent litigation.
• Proven track record of handling patent litigations involving multiple patents and venues such as district courts, ITC, and PTAB.
• Extensive experience in taking and defending depositions and arguing before judicial bodies in patent cases.
• Strong understanding of patent law, including claim construction, infringement, validity, and related legal principles.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills with the ability to draft complex legal documents.

Certifications (if applicable):

• Certification in Intellectual Property Law is preferred.
