A law firm in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a dedicated Labor and Employment Attorney to manage a range of labor and employment matters, including handling unfair labor practice charges, labor arbitrations, providing employers with labor-related advice and counsel, and drafting employment agreements. The attorney will be responsible for managing cases from inception through trial, involving tasks such as drafting memoranda, pleadings, motions, court appearances, depositions, eDiscovery, settlement negotiations, and conducting trials. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, and be licensed to practice law in New York State. Duties:

  • Handle traditional labor and employment matters, including unfair labor practice charges and labor arbitrations.
  • Provide advice and counsel to employers on labor-related issues.
  • Draft and review employment agreements.
  • Manage cases from inception through trial, including drafting legal documents, collaborating on case strategies, attending court appearances, taking and defending depositions, conducting discovery (including eDiscovery), and handling settlement negotiations.
  • Represent clients in employment-related trials.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
  • Admission to practice law in New York State.
  • Excellent research and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a broad spectrum of labor and employment matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
