Job Overview:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage privacy and data security risks associated with collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
  • Develop and implement privacy and data security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct privacy and data security assessments and audits.
  • Respond to data breaches and other privacy-related incidents.
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Draft and negotiate data protection agreements and other related documents.
  • Stay current on privacy and data security developments and trends.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing privacy and data security risks.
  • Significant knowledge of and experience advising on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Active CO, MN, NY, or PA license is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or other relevant privacy certifications are a plus.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of privacy and data security laws and regulations.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
