Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This position focuses on consumer defense and requires managing all phases of litigation, including class actions, with opportunities to work closely with experienced senior attorneys. The role offers dynamic involvement in legal strategy and case management within a supportive and professional environment.

Duties:

• Handle consumer law cases in both state and federal courts, with an emphasis on class action litigation.
• Oversee all stages of litigation, including information gathering, legal analysis, discovery (including depositions), hearings, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to formulate case strategies and action plans.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and engage in negotiations with opposing counsel.
• Coordinate with local counsel when necessary.
• Work alongside insurance risk managers for case management.

Requirements:

• JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Strong academic background, with preference for candidates in the top half of their class or those with law review or moot court experience.
• Consumer defense experience is preferred; experience in insurance coverage is an added advantage.
• Licensure in multiple states or federal court admissions is beneficial.
• Ability to work comfortably in a paperless environment and use Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Highly motivated with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Capable of independently managing a large caseload and developing legal strategies.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school.

Skills:

• Expertise in handling complex litigation, particularly in consumer law.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team while managing individual responsibilities.
• High level of legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
