Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced associate attorney with a focus on commercial real estate finance, particularly within the CMBS lending and servicing sector. This role requires strong expertise in the management and structuring of CMBS/balance sheet loans, along with an excellent background in research and writing. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of relevant experience and join a dynamic legal team in a growing practice area.

Duties:

  • Handle complex commercial real estate finance transactions, focusing on CMBS lending and servicing.
  • Advise clients on the structuring, negotiation, and closing of CMBS and balance sheet loans.
  • Provide asset management services related to CMBS/balance sheet financing.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the smooth execution of legal strategies.
  • Perform legal research and draft high-quality legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and firm policies.
  • Manage multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of legal experience in commercial real estate finance.
  • Expertise in CMBS lending, balance sheet financing, and asset management.
  • Strong research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal transactions efficiently.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced law firm or corporate legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to waive into Texas if not already licensed.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas, or eligibility for reciprocity or waiver into the Texas Bar.
