Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including commercial debtors, creditors, and lenders.
  • Handle cases involving financial restructuring, insolvency, and related legal issues.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and objections.
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy strategy and legal rights.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on current bankruptcy laws and regulations.
  • Participate in court hearings and trials, presenting arguments and evidence as needed.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes between parties.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and stakeholders to manage complex cases.

  • Manage case files and maintain accurate records of legal proceedings and client communications.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice in both state and federal courts of New York.
  • 2-4 years of experience in bankruptcy law, focusing on commercial cases and financial restructuring.
  • Additional jurisdiction admissions are welcomed but not required.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and procedures.
  • Proven ability to handle complex bankruptcy cases and transactions.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar and federal courts.
